My Dream Kitchen
The Kitchen- Overview
Kitchen Reno- Caviar Taste on a Burger King Budget
How I View Design:
Every room in a home should give joy, be filled with personal moments, and reflect the owner’s journey and roots. Everything should be pleasing to the eye, and a showcase of personal style.
I recently renovated my kitchen with these tenets.
Kitchen Reno- Caviar Taste on a Burger King Budget
From the time I moved into my house, 20 years ago, the kitchen was a combination of bad taste and unfortunate design. The cabinet doors were unique, the center panels recessed in a deep frame of oval, constructed in orange oak. The countertops were not only unsightly, but unhealthy. The seams between the tiles hosted an army of invisible germs, plotting to unleash their toxic powers. A butt-ugly kitchen.
The kitchen called out “update me, update me,” I heard it, but I didn’t have the money. I perfected the art of making do. Three years of pandemic confinement convinced me to commence the renovation, despite my meager bank account. So, with a budget of $3000, $32,000 less than my projected requirement , I accepted the challenge.
You can make great changes with a minimal budget. I have more information on each step, click on the links below for detailed pictures and the processes. Note: Some detail posts are complete others are coming.
